Operation and cooking time with the pressure cooker

To get an approximate cooking time notion, we can estimate that it takes one third of what a regular pot takes.

A pressure cooker should be never filled over 2/3 of its capacity (including water), and even if it is lentils, beans or chickpeas, it is recommended that it doesn’t go over 1/3 of the capacity since they double their size when cooking and can block the valve and alter the operation.

In addition to fast cooking, the pressure cooker is excellent for cleaner and odorless cooking.

By being hermetically sealed it doesn’t allow spilling while cooking, avoiding splatters on the flame and kitchen, generating less cleaning work.

We can find a wide range of makes and brands that vary in price according to their component quality, being Megafesa and Tefal two acknowledged brands with a good price and quality relation.
